Risk Systems
Anvil Consulting worked with a client over a two year period to develop a major system for the analysis of risk on a multitude of trading activities, including Bullion, Precious and Base Metals, FX, Options, IR Swaps and Bonds.
Multi-Product Trading Infrastructure System
A client was looking for an architectural solution to enable unified cross-product trading utilising the bank's existing single-product trading systems. Anvil designed and implemented this significant solution over three years. The system now allows for global cross-product position keeping of assets. It also allows traders to view and even enter "alien" trade types through an existing trade system interface. This means, for example, a proprietary trader can engage in a swap transaction without having the swaps system installed on his computer.
Electronic Markets
Electronic markets are now an essential part of everyday trading. Anvil worked with a client to create a standard interface to a number of electronic markets, enabling traders to send orders to one or more exchanges from their usual trading screens. Orders can be set up to track prices in real-time to enable market maker quoting. Current best prices and market depth are then sent back to the traders' screens. Completed trades on the exchanges are fed back into the trading system for seamless position keeping and P&L calculations.
